Abstract

Medical students have long been involved within pioneering medical research, reaching as far back to the development of heparin in 1916 by Jay Mclean or the discovery of insulin by Charles Best working with Frederick Banting in 1921. The editorial explored the importance of students' involvement in research, and how research can be of use to medical students.
